Thyroid disorders occur when the thyroid, a gland located in the neck that helps regulate metabolism and maintain a proper hormone balance throughout the body, malfunctions.
Usually hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism develop as the result of an autoimmune disease. Graves’ disease is the most common cause of autoimmune hyperthyroidism. Hashimoto’s disease is the most common cause of autoimmune hypothyroidism.
The first goal in treating any thyroid disorder is to make sure that you receive an accurate diagnosis. Thyroid disorders can be difficult to diagnose because their symptoms overlap with those of many other conditions such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and Celiac disease.

We can be exposed to heavy metals through the inhalation of air pollutants and through the consumption of food (ex. mercury found in some fish), water and household and personal care products that contain contaminates.
Over time, heavy metals can interfere with the body’s natural healing process and can cause illness. The build-up of toxins in your body tissues can cause digestive problems and joint pain, and affect your nervous system and cause neurological disorders, including headaches, sleep disturbances, depression, and cognitive difficulties.
The most common symptoms include:
chronic fatigue
memory loss
sleep disturbances
unexplained tremors
mood disorders/depression
headaches/migraine
joint/muscle aches
A hormonal imbalance can cause a wide variety of symptoms, many of which are common to other conditions. Often patients suffering from chronic pain, illness, or fatigue have been living with hormonal imbalances.

Loss of mental acuity
Fatigue
Musculoskeletal pain

In addition, men may experience impotence/erectile dysfunction, prostate issues, and hair loss, while vaginal dryness, sporadic periods, and hot flashes/night sweats due to menopause are symptoms commonly seen in women.
