IV therapy is a delivery method for fluids and medication. “IV” stands for intravenous, which means it's administered through the veins. The fluid that contains vitamins and minerals or medication is delivered via an IV drip or injection into the vein, which allows the therapy to move quickly through your bloodstream.
Insurance carrier typically do not cover vitamin infusions. Elemental Infusion LLC and Elemental Wellness are cash based practices. By not affiliating with or billing insurance, we are able to keep our cost low and pass that savings onto our customers. Our services are eligible to be covered by HSA Accounts.
After a consultation with our provider and a focused physical exam, a treatment plan is developed. A small plastic catheter is inserted into a vein, typically in the mid arm using strict aseptic technique. The IV infusion is mixed and infused by a licensed healthcare professional (RN/NP) over 45 minutes (or up to 4 hours, depending on the infusion chosen). After in infusion is completed, the IV access is removed.
Those who are pregnant or nursing should not receive vitamin infusions, as the effects of high dose vitamins on fetal development had not been researched . People who have heart problems, retain fluid or have kidney issues should not receive infusions. Those with G6DP should not receive high dose vitamin C infusions.
